The objectives and purposes of this Association shall be among other things and not limited to: providing for an adequate supply of safe, decent and affordable housing in New York State communities that are themselves socially and economically viable.

Such objectives and purposes shall be attained through:

-ongoing development and improvement of professional standards as they relate to those programs involved in the delivery of safe, decent and affordable housing,

-subsidized housing, community and economic development and renewal; by exchanging ideas and information as acquired through experience in the field;

-by conducting conferences,

-workshops and seminars that pursue excellence and professionalism in the administering of Federal, State and Local, housing, community and economic development and renewal programs;

-by initiating and sustaining more activity in these areas through cooperation with other agencies,

-associations and groups both public and private having similar or related purposes; and by analyzing and making known the Association’s position on Federal and State rules and regulations and legislation, (except as otherwise provided by the Internal Revenue Code section 501 (h), as it affects Housing Authorities, Housing Companies, Community/ Economic Development and Urban Renewal Agencies, Neighborhood and Rural Preservation Companies, Codes Enforcement and all type of subsidized housing programs.)
